What is R4Respect?

R4Respect is a youth-led, evidence based respectful relationships program where young leaders in Logan empower other young people (12-24) to live lives free of abuse and violence.

Why do we exist?

The formation of R4Respect was prompted by the need to respond to the attitudes of young people towards interpersonal abuse and violence.

Who are we?

R4Respect is supported by a team of Youth Ambassadors (aged 16-24) from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds. They use digital communication strategies, school activities and community outreach to promote the values and attitudes that help young people understand what is okay and what crosses the line into harmful and violent behaviour.

How do we work?

The program logic for the youth-driven R4Respect program is based on evidence that shows exposure to education and role models of respectful relationships can assist young people to improve their attitudes and behaviours. It can also foster positive help-seeking-behaviour. The cumulative impact of this is a reduction in abuse and violation amongst young people.
